Grow. Gather. Give.

Our Story
Neighbors Nourishing Communities (NNC) is a locally run Oregon nonprofit and 501(c)(3) charity. We began with a simple vision: neighbors helping neighbors by sharing the food we grow. Since our founding in 2014, that vision has blossomed into a community-wide effort to reduce hunger, improve nutrition, and strengthen connections—one garden at a time.
Our Mission
To reduce hunger and empower communities through gardening.
Gardeners grow.
We provide seeds, plants, tools, and guidance to help people succeed. In return, home gardeners pledge to donate 20% or more of their harvest to the Tualatin Food Pantry or food bank of their choice.
Families thrive.
We fund garden plots, tools, and supplies for low-income families so they can grow and enjoy their own fresh food.
Communities connect.
From gardening or cooking classes to harvest parties, we build spaces where people learn, share, and nourish one another.
Our Model
We keep it simple, sustainable, and neighbor-powered:
Gardners Helping Neighbors
Our Impact
-
30,000+ pounds of produce donated since 2014
-
Dozens of gardeners supported each year with free seeds and plants
-
Cooking & preserving classes to extend food access beyond the harvest season

Every seed planted and every pound donated brings us closer to ending hunger right here in Tualatin.

Why It Matters
Fresh fruits and vegetables are often the hardest foods for struggling families to access. They’re also the foods most critical to good health. By sharing gardens, knowledge, and community resources, we’re ensuring that families in Tualatin and beyond have access to the nutrition they deserve.
Every gardener, every business partner, every volunteer plays a role in this work. Whether you grow a few pots of tomatoes on your patio or sponsor an entire community garden, you’re helping create a healthier, more connected community.
